How to get a domain

You obtain a domain by registering it through a domain registrar or provider.

Choose a registrar (for example, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), then search for the name you want (like mycompany.com).

If it is available, select the domain, choose the registration period (usually 1 year, auto‑renew optional), and review the terms.

Enter required contact information (name, email, address); this is used for domain ownership records and verification.

Complete the purchase; the domain is then created in your registrar account and you can configure its DNS settings there.

Pointing the domain to your website builder

Once you own the domain, you must connect it to your website builder (like the site you are configuring in Faddishbuilder).

In your website builder, open the “Add Custom Domain”.

The builder will usually show the DNS records you need to add at your registrar, often one or more of:

A record: points your root domain (mydomain.com) to an IP address of the builder’s servers.

CNAME record: points a subdomain like www.mydomain.com to a target host (for example, sites.faddishbuilder.com).

In your registrar DNS panel, create or modify those records exactly as shown by the builder, without touching other records like MX (email) unless you intentionally want to change email hosting.

Save DNS changes; DNS propagation can take from a few minutes up to 24–48 hours, during which your domain will start resolving to the new website.
